Malaysia Family Day 2008 Print E-mail

We wish to inform that the Consulate General of Malaysia in Perth will be organizing and hosting the Malaysia Family Day Picnic at Burswood Park on 22 November 2008 from 08.30 to 13.00 hours. This event will provide a platform for Malaysians and friends to meet new/old friends, exchange ideas/news/jokes, enjoy the Malaysian hospitality/atmosphere and have the spirit of “muhibbah”.

All Malaysians, family members and friends are welcome to this Family day picnic. There will be games for both children and adults. You can also bring your own picnic. At the same time, we will provide nasi lemak, BBQ, kuih, water and teh tarik (First come, first serve basis).

For those who are interested to join this picnic, we request that you register with the Consulate General of Malaysia to facilitate the preparation of food, drinks, games and prizes. We also welcome any volunteers and contributions to make this event even more successful and enjoyable

PETRONAS Graduate Interview 2008: We are looking for LEADERS

We wish to invite all qualified Malaysians (undergraduates and postgraduate students in Australia and New Zealand) to participate in our upcoming recruitment drive this July.

Our Requirements:

Non-Technical Disciplines – Business Administration, Psychology, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics and Economics

Technical Disciplines – Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, Physics and Chemistry

·       A Weighted Average Marks (WAM) of 70% and above for Australia OR Cumulative GPA of B and above for New Zealand   

·       Graduating in December 2008 

·       Hold leadership posts and active involvement in relevant clubs, societies or community services 

Please email your application letter, scanned copy of latest results and a full CV with at least 2 recent references in Australia or New Zealand to before Monday, 19th May 2008.

The polling date for the Malaysian general election has been set on
the 8th march 2008. The High Commission of Malaysia has also made an announcement in regards to the eligibility of Malaysians casting their
votes via postal votes / diplomatic bag. The information is as set below.

PROSIDUR PENDAFTARAN PEMILIH BAGI PILIHAN RAYA

Pendaftaran pemilih di Australia boleh dilakukan melalui Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia di Canberra. Borang pendaftaran yang telah lengkap boleh dihantar terus kepada ibupejabat Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya (SPR) di Putrajaya atau melalui Pejabat Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia melalui bag diplomatik.
 
HBS yang bertugas di Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia, Canberra boleh bertindak selaku saksi atau Penolong Pendaftar pada Borang A yang dibekalkan. Pemilih yang telah mendaftar di luar negara boleh membuat semakan status pemilih dalam laman web SPR di www.spr.gov.my. Tempoh maksimum untuk mengesahkan status pemilih adalah selama 5 bulan.
 
Bagi kategori pengundi di luar negara, mereka yang layak mengundi adalah:
  1. Kakitangan awam dan pasangan yang bekerja di luar negara
  2. Pelajar sepenuh masa dan pasangan yang menuntut di luar negara (tajaan kerajaan atau sendiri)
Rakyat Malaysia yang tidak termasuk dalam kategori di atas perlu pulang ke Malaysia untuk mengundi mengikut lokaliti masing-masing. Maklumat lanjut berhubung dengan kategori mereka yang boleh mengundi juga boleh di rujuk dalam laman web rasmi SPR.
